New Building
Over 30 years ago, the local municipality allocated us land for the construction of a synagogue.
Despite various efforts over the years, the project never managed to materialize.
In 2019, we decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign.
We succeeded in the campaign and raised 3.6 million shekels. Based on the old synagogue plans, the number of community members at that time, and the construction costs back then, this should have been enough.
But then COVID-19 hit and slowed everything down. At the same time, we began a bureaucratic journey to obtain a building permit based on new architectural plans, and after about three years, we finally received the permit.
In the beginning of 2023, we began actual construction, but faced many issues due to the type of rock in the ground and the complexity of digging the foundations. We overcame that too.

Then came October 7th…
The contractor who handled our foundation work was no longer able to continue, so we had to look for a new contractor — a Jewish one — and we found him. Since March 2024, we’ve been building the frame with the new contractor, who is making good and blessed progress.
The growth in the number of community members, the changes to the building plans, the rise in construction costs, and the need to replace the contractor — all of these factors mean that the funds we currently have will be enough to complete the building’s frame, but to finish the building, we need a significant additional amount of funding.
